Simon Phipps
Simon Phipps is a computer scientist and open source advocate best known for his work on the release of the Solaris operating system and Java programming language under open source licenses while at Sun Microsystems. Phipps also served as CEO of the MariaDB Foundation and as President of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) — a global non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of the open source movement. He is an advisor to numerous open source communities and a regular speaker at industry conferences.
