Lauren Lee McCarthy
Lauren Lee McCarthy is an American artist and computer programer whose work examines social relationships in an age of surveillance, automation and algorithms. She is the creator of p5.js — a popular open source coding platform that seeks to make coding more accessible to visual artists, designers, and educators.
McCarthy is a Associate Professor at UCLA Design Media Arts as well as a Co-Director of the Processing Foundation (whose goal is to empower people of all interests and backgrounds to learn how to program and make creative work with code).
